The barcode UID is a unique identifier created by GoToTags software used to uniquely identify a barcode. This UID is generated using the format of the barcode as well as its data.

Although a GoToTags barcode UID is a unique identifier, it is not unique to any singular physical barcode. Two barcodes with the same format and data will generate the same UID. This is because the UID is generated directly from the format and data.
