Desktop App: NFC Reader Firmware Upgrade

The Desktop App offers the ability to upgrade the firmware on select NFC readers. This allows users to keep their readers up to date with the latest features and bug fixes for that reader.

Supported NFC Readers

The Desktop App supports upgrading the firmware for the following NFC readers:

Process

To upgrade the firmware on a supported NFC reader:

  1. Open the upgrader from the NFC menu bar item
  2. Ensure only 1 NFC reader is plugged in and that the reader is firmware upgradeable
  3. Select ‘Continue’
  4. Check that the correct reader is shown in the dropdown menu (if 2 items exist for the reader, select the item containing ‘PICC’)
  5. Select ‘Update’ and ensure your computer does not shut down
  6. Once it has finished, exit the upgrader
