Desktop App Release v4.3.3
The Desktop App v4.3.3 was released on February 17th, 2023. This release finalized the stabilization phase for the beta version of the app. Assuming no significant new bugs appear, we will shift to adding new features.
Features
The following are new and improved features for the Desktop App. If you would like to see a specific addition to the Desktop App, request a feature.
- Common errors with NFC tag reading will no longer stop the app from operating. These errors usually appear when a tag is moved away from the reader before the app is able to pull all the data from the tag. This should make reading tags a much smoother experience.
- Added an icon in the status bar to show whether the Desktop App is operating or not. Some menu bar items will be disabled while the app is operating.
Bug Fixes
The following are new bug fixes in the Desktop App. If you find a bug in the Desktop App, submit a bug report.
- When some unsupported NFC tags were read, an incident window would show saying the tag had an unknown ATR format. We have fixed this and the app will now show a more detailed error for most tags.
- For some Windows users, a Smart Card service error would cause the app to crash when no readers were detected by Windows. Now, users should not have any problems with the Smart Card service.
- On app startup, the loading window was slow to appear giving the impression that the app did not try and start. We now show the loading window much earlier to clear up any confusion.
