Desktop App Release v4.23.0
The Desktop App v4.23.0 was released on April 3rd, 2025. This release increases the speed of the Print and Encode NFC tags operation and other new print features.
Features
The following are new and improved features for the Desktop App. If you would like to see a specific addition to the Desktop App, request a feature.
- Added an option to the Print and Encode NFC Tags operation to wait for prints to finish. Previously, this was the default behavior, but with waiting disabled, speed is increased dramatically
- Added an app logger view to some operations to help diagnose issues
- Added a setting to minimize the app to the tray automatically on startup
- Print operations now support Code 128 barcode printing
- Created a Print Tags operation for printing large quantities of tags without encoding
- Added support for removing passwords from NTAG21356 NFC tags in the NFC Tag Tools operation
- Added support for dynamic data replacement in UHF encoding operations
Bug Fixes
The following are new bug fixes in the Desktop App. If you find a bug in the Desktop App, submit a bug report.
- Fixed an issue causing the app to fail to open an operation file if it was not a zip file
- Fixed a rare issue where the app would fail to shut down correctly and corrupt some necessary files
- Added detection logic for cases where Zebra ZT610s would skip tags to mitigate cases where bad tags would go undetected
- Code scanners will no longer fail to read data that contains non-ASCII characters
- Fixed an issue causing PCSC2 NFC readers to enter a state where they can no longer detect tags
- Improved grids so that they use much less memory in cases where large quantities of rows are loaded
- Fixed an issue where Zebra 610s would start responding much slower to commands
- Fixed an issue causing Zebra 610s to not be detected if their “Power Up Action” setting was set to “No Motion”
