Connected Things is a subset of the Internet of Things focused on connecting physical objects to their digital identity and experiences via inexpensive tags which are interacted with by devices. Connected Things is contrasted to its sibling, Connected Devices which is focused on powered devices reading data and communicating to cloud software for subsequent use and analysis.
