Store Products

General information about the products sold on the GoToTags Store including the yield rate on NFC tags, how to obtain sample products for testing and evaluation, and information about the specifications the GoToTags Store provides for the products it sells.

Tag Yield

NFC tags purchased from the GoToTags Store are guaranteed to deliver a 98% yield of functioning tags. GoToTags adheres to the industry standard of 2% expected bad NFC tags, yet in practice, the percentage tends to be much lower. Warranty and returns adhere to the 2% expectation, thus GoToTags is not responsible for replacing defective NFC tags that are within the 2% ratio of the order total. When a minimum quantity of functional NFC tags is required, GoToTags advises increasing the purchased quantity by 2% to account for potential bad NFC tags.

GoToTags may remove any defective tags discovered during the production or encoding process and ship the order minus the bad tags. The difference will be refunded or delivery of the shortage at a later date will be arranged if the amount of the shortage exceeds 2%.

Please note that NFC tags can become damaged or defective after they have been delivered. Reasons that an NFC tag may become defective include the environment they are placed in or secondary processes the NFC tags undergo such as welding, bending, or forceful pressing. If NFC tags purchased from the GoToTags Store become damaged or defective in processes after they are delivered, they are no longer under warranty. Customers intending to insert an NFC tag inside something else or who need to place NFC tags into a secondary process, should read the product specifications carefully and perform trials to validate performance. Additionally, GoToTags can be contacted for advice on the NFC tag best suited to the project.

Specifications

The GoToTags Store provides comprehensive specifications related to the manufacture, composition, and performance attributes of the products it sells. However, some specifications can change over time.

The following are typical examples:

  • Chemical composition of materials including paper, ink, adhesives, ferrite, and other components
  • NFC antenna shape, size, position, and material
  • Minor variances in shape, size, and color
  • Printing process

Published specifications should be checked by the customer to ensure that they have not negatively changed since a previous purchase. If an unacceptable change is identified, contact GoToTags to discuss whether the prior specifications may be available for customer order. The customer should also compare specifications against the physical product upon receipt.

Samples

The GoToTags Store always recommends testing with a sample quantity of tags in the application environment before placing a bulk order. The minimum order quantity for most products in the Store is low to allow the customer to buy small quantities of products or similar products for testing.

Generally, the GoToTags Store does not provide free product samples. Exceptions to this policy are sometimes made under the following circumstances:

  • The customer is paying a new mold fee, samples are included
  • Similar samples are on hand from a previous customer’s order, they may be free
  • Samples requested that are not on hand may be available for production for a reasonable cost

The customer must cover the cost of shipping samples. Samples will be placed as an order on the GoToTags Store for tracking purposes.
