Supported Hardware and Tags
The Desktop App works with a range of barcode scanners and formats, NFC readers and tags and UHF RFID readers and tags:
Internet Access
The Desktop App requires a persistent internet connection for several reasons including account management, GoToTags Cloud services, billing, app updates, analytics, configuration, help links and more. If you are in a restricted network environment (corporate), changes to the network (firewall, …) may be required in order for the app to function correctly. Contact your network / IT department for help; this is not something GoToTags can do.
External Domains
The Desktop App connects to the following wildcard domains via HTTP/HTTPS. In the case of a restricted network environment, these domains must be allowed through the firewall, or the entire computer put in a DMZ. Additional domains may be added in future versions without notice.
- *.gototags.com
- *.gototags.io
- *.gttgs.io
- *.google-analytics.com
- *.sentry.io
The DNS enteries must be allowed explicitly in the firewall, not their coresponding IP addresses. The IPs for their DNS entries are subject to change. If the IP addresses are configured in the firewall and the DNS to IP changes then the Desktop App will not work properly.
